2 dead after shooting in Sarasota condo

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Two people were killed in a shooting at a Sarasota apartment complex Wednesday night.

Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office officers were called to a condominium in the 1600 block of Stickney Point Road shortly before 9 p.m.

Officials said they found two people with gunshot wounds inside the home. The Sarasota County Fire Department pronounced both dead. Their identities have not yet been determined.

The investigations are being carried out by detectives from the criminal police.

Deputies did not say whether they were looking for a suspect.

The sheriff’s office said it appears to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
