Madison police release images of 31 suspects in connection with car crash on Mifflin Street | crime

MADISON (WKOW) — The Madison Police Department released images Tuesday of 31 suspects connected to an overturned and damaged car on Mifflin Street during the legendary block party in late April.

Spokeswoman Stephanie Fryer said more than 150 officers were deployed to the event, which typically draws thousands of people to the 400 and 500 blocks of Mifflin Street each year.

Many people attended house parties and gathered in the backyards of houses.

On April 27 around 2:40 p.m., officers had to clear backyards along the 500 block of Mifflin after a person overturned a vehicle. Nobody was injured. There were no arrests.

“We are making good progress in identifying those involved,” Fryer said in a statement. “Investigators are reviewing videos that show the damage as it occurred.”

Fryer said Madison police will be considerate of those who come forward and take responsibility for their actions by giving them a court order appointment. Those identified who do not come forward will be arrested and taken to prison.

If you recognize anyone in the picture, please contact Detective Brown at 608-219-4491.

The Mifflin Street Block Party is not a sanctioned event. This was the most attended block party since the pandemic, Fryer reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
