Ellendale murder investigation | News

ELLENDALEDel. – Delaware State Police are investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday, June 1, resulting in the death of a 28-year-old man.

Officials say officers responded to a shooting at a home on South Old State Road in Ellendale around 10:47 p.m. on June 1. When they arrived, officers found the man in the front yard with a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, police said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident began with a fight between the victim and a woman. Police say the female suspect had a gun and shot the victim in the chest. The woman ran away, police say.

The homicide squad is currently actively investigating this case.
