Police say a Pleasanton resident was hospitalized and is in critical condition after his wife allegedly stabbed him during a domestic dispute Monday at the Hacienda Commons Apartments.

Pleasanton police arrested the adult woman, who was later booked into Santa Rita Jail on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated domestic violence, Lt. Erik Silacci on Tuesday in a press release.

“This isolated case of domestic violence is currently under active investigation and police are supporting the affected family during this difficult time,” Silacci said.

According to Silacci, PPD received a call around 12:30 a.m. Monday from a woman who reported she had stabbed her husband during an argument.

Officers responded to the apartment complex in the 4900 block of Owens Drive where they immediately rendered aid to the husband.

Silacci said the man was transported to a local trauma center, where he is currently in critical condition.

PPD will not release the names of either individual due to the ongoing investigation and confidentiality laws governing domestic violence cases.
