Police incident slows traffic on I-49 near Springdale

SPRINGDALE, Ark. – A police incident is slowing traffic on I-49 near Springdale.

According to an Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) report, a police incident on I-49 near mile marker 74 is affecting traffic on the right shoulder of the northbound lanes.

Cars move slowly in the area.

ARDOT cameras show several police vehicles with their lights on on the shoulder behind a parked car.

According to the report, there are no known injuries at this time.

5NEWS reached out to Springdale Police for more information on the incident. Sergeant. Matt Ray with SPD said officers did indeed conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle south of Wagon Wheel Road on I-49 and that some units were dispatched, but there were no further details yet.
