Is Wayne Pascal leaving the Missing Persons Unit? What happened to Alisha-Marie Ahamed?

With all signs pointing to her death in the season 2 finale, fans are desperate for information about whether Wayne Pascal is leaving the series Alert: Missing Persons Unit and what could happen to Alisha-Marie Ahamed’s character.

Alert: Missing Persons Department sparked speculation that Pascal, played by Alisha-Marie Ahamed, would be leaving the series in the preview of the season two finale, “Federal Prisoner,” in which, for her information, she was met by Inspector Hollis Braun, the new boss of the MPU team, is kidnapped for the car bombings at the beginning of the season. In the preview, Wayne – who went missing on the day of Captain Nikki Batista and Detective Sergeant Mike Sherman’s wedding – realizes that she has been kidnapped after her blindfold is removed and sees that she is tied to a chair.

“Wayne Pascal is gone,” Detective Jason Grant is told in the preview. “It’s brown. We have to make an effort now,” Grant tells the team later in the preview. The preview continues as Braun tells the MPU unit, “You’re all suspended.” Grant then threatens Braun by telling him, “I’m coming to get you,” to which Braun replies, “Move on.” The Preview continues with the team saying that “Braun has outdone them” and that they are “running out of time” before ending with a clip of Pascal getting into an accident during a high-speed car chase that leaves them bloodied and leaves him unconscious.

Alisha-Marie Ahamed – who plays Pascal – has not confirmed whether she is leaving the series. However, Deadline reported in January 2024 that she was cast as a series regular, while Gil Bellows, who plays Braun, was only a recurring cast member.

Given her series regular status, that’s unlikely Alert: Missing Persons Department Pascal would be written off after just one season, although not impossible. Before the Alert: Missing Persons Department For the Season 2 finale, Ahamed shared several posts on her Instagram Story urging fans to watch the episode, seemingly suggesting that she wasn’t done with the series yet.

Alert: Missing Persons Department was renewed by FOX for a third season in May 2024, a week before the second season finale. According to Deadline, filming for Season 3 will begin immediately after Season 3 in case production is interrupted this summer by another Hollywood strike, as Season 2 was disrupted by strikes by the Writer’s Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA.
