Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run crash on Ladson Road

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Ladson Road Friday evening.

According to police, the collision occurred around 8:45 p.m. when a 2023 Kawaosoki motorcycle was traveling east on Ladson Road when an unknown vehicle attempted to turn onto Oakmount Ave, striking the side of the motorcycle bounced.

According to authorities, the driver was thrown into the westbound lanes of Ladson Road and struck by another unknown vehicle.

Officials say the driver died and the rear passenger of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.
