A patient flown in for treatment after an accident in Jo Daviess County

One person was flown to the hospital for treatment following a car accident in Jo Daviess County.

According to a press release, Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s officers were called to the area of ​​US HWY 20 W. and Williams Dr. at approximately 3:33 a.m. on July 28 for a single-vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers found Erick Marcelinocruz traveling west on US HWY 20 W. and failing to reduce his speed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and came to a stop on the north side of HWY 20 W. in the area of ​​8418 US HWY 20 W. Due to injuries, a rear seat passenger was flown to UW Health University Hospital for treatment. All remaining occupants were evaluated and released at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
