iciHaiti – ALARM: Heatwave

Due to the heat wave (with temperatures up to 38 °C – 100 °F) that has been raging throughout the country for several days, the Haitian Hydrometeorological Unit (UHM) asks the population:

– protect yourself by wearing suitable clothing (loose, light and light colours, etc.);
– Stay hydrated and watch for symptoms of heat illness.
– Check that your loved ones, especially children and the elderly, are well.
– Finally, follow the weather reports.

On Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, the weather will continue to be dominated by a North Atlantic high pressure system and sand fog from the Sahara. Therefore, windy weather and heat waves are expected to continue in Haiti during this period.
