1 wanted, 1 arrested after theft of slot machines and ATMs

LINCOLN CO., NC (WBTV) – Two people have been charged in separate business burglaries in the Denver and Stanley areas.

The first incident occurred on June 10 in the 500 block of Brentwood in Denver and involved the theft of an electronic gaming machine, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

A month later, the suspect allegedly stole an ATM containing several thousand dollars in cash from inside a business near the 6000 block of Old Plank Road.

Officials said they found a vehicle and trailer used in the crimes, as well as parts of an ATM, outside a home on Cardinal Loop in Stanley while following up on another case.

After officers served a search warrant, they found evidence of both break-ins and issued arrest warrants for two people:

  • Charles Raymond Stancil59, was charged with burglary, theft after burglary and possession of stolen goods. He also had a Gaston County warrant out for his arrest for burglary, theft after burglary and safecracking.
  • Savoy StarrThe 58-year-old is facing one charge each: burglary, theft after burglary and possession of stolen goods.

Starr has not yet been found or arrested.
