Floresville man sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexual exploitation of a child after attacking 7-year-old at daycare | South Texas

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A Floresville man has been sentenced to 360 months in federal prison for sexually exploiting a seven-year-old girl.

Rodney Allan Felux, 45, sexually abused and exploited the child in December 2022 while she attended a daycare, court documents state. The victim informed her mother of the incident, which sparked an investigation. During a forensic interview, the victim stated that she was blindfolded and taken to a shed and sexually abused while Felux took numerous explicit images of her.

Felux was arrested on January 11, 2023, and pleaded guilty to child sexual abuse in January 2024. In addition to the 30-year prison sentence and lifetime supervised release, U.S. District Judge Fred Biery ordered Felux to pay $50,000 in restitution to the victim.

“As the court explained in sentencing, the penalties for this offense are severe for good reason,” said U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza for the Western District of Texas. “The defendant caused irreparable harm to this young girl through his intentional, planned, and executed predatory sexual conduct.”

“This verdict sends a clear message that we will not tolerate the sexual abuse and exploitation of children in our community,” said Special Agent in Charge Aaron Tapp of the FBI’s San Antonio Field Office. “The FBI, along with our law enforcement partners at the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, will continue to vigorously pursue every lead to rescue child victims of sexual abuse and bring their perpetrators to justice.”
