Emporia man arrested for attempted murder

Formal charges are pending after an Emporia man was arrested early Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder and other charges.

Shortly after midnight, Emporia police arrested 34-year-old Justin Colby Barrett on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, domestic violence, and criminal threats and endangerment.

Police Captain Ray Mattas says this is not a public case and officers will not release any further information on the case.
