Trio charged with charges related to Bryan murder investigation in 2023

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Three people accused of tampering with evidence in a murder case have been indicted by a Brazos County grand jury.

The suspects are Anthony Jamal Currie, 20, of Bryan, Lamarco Andrell Joshua, 21, of College Station, and Meakeyleetrieceiavia Nowlin, 25, of College Station.

All three were charged last week with tampering with evidence in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Courtaney Jermaine O’Bryant of College Station.

Investigators say they tried to hide O’Bryrant’s cellphone and the gun used in his June 5, 2023 murder in the 3300 block of S College Avenue in Bryan.

The three were arrested in April of this year and bail was set at $100,000 each.

Currie and Joshua remain at the Brazos County Detention Center.

Nowlin was also released from jail in April on $100,000 bail. Sources tell KBTX that Nowlin was taken into custody in April at the TDCJ Bryan/College Station probation office, where she was employed. We have reached out to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to ask what her employment status is today.

A motive for the shooting was not disclosed.
