Rape: Colleague allegedly raped woman | News from Vadodara

Vadodara: A 21-year-old woman has filed a rape complaint against her former colleague. She alleges that he started a physical relationship with her by promising to marry her. The accused, who was married, told the woman he would divorce her soon. The offence was registered at Vadodara taluka police station on Friday night. The investigation has been handed over to the Crimes Against Women Investigation Unit (IUCAW) of the rural police. The woman alleges that the accused raped her in Rajasthan when they were there for work. He promised to marry her and they had physical relations at different places. She claims that the accused was married and often told her he would divorce his wife. The woman and the accused used to work together in a finance firm, sources said. The accused then started his own business and the woman joined him. The woman also claimed that she gave him Rs 700,000.
