Police tape was put up at Break Time on Business Loop 70 in Columbia following an attack

COLUMBIA, Missouri (KMIZ)

Police tape was put up around break time on Business Loop 70 and Garth Avenue in Columbia on Thursday following an attack.

A Columbia police officer on the scene said police were called for a reported assault. The officer said the suspect in the attack was in custody and the victim was taken to an area hospital. The officer said there was no danger to the community.

Further information about the victim or the person arrested was not immediately available. A reporter from ABC 17 News was unable to find any evidence at the crime scene.

Six officers from the Columbia Police Department, a deputy sheriff and a sniffer dog were on site. The entire gas station was cordoned off.

ABC 17 News is working to obtain further information.
