New Jersey Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line closed due to signal problems at River Draw Bridge

NEW JERSEY (WABC) — New Jersey Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line service is suspended Thursday morning.

The closure is due to signal problems at the River Draw Bridge.

It is not yet known when the problem is expected to be resolved.

NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are mutually accepted by NJ Transit and private transit buses.

NJ Transit strongly encourages customers to visit the transit website for information on alternative service options.

The 116-year-old bridge connects Perth Amboy to South Amboy along the North Jersey Coast Line and is used by more than 10,000 passengers daily. It is currently being replaced.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
