Two Wisner residents have been arrested and accused of intentionally setting their home on fire

AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (KNOE) – Two Wisner residents are accused of intentionally setting fire to a bunkie home for insurance money, according to the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal.

The Bunkie Fire Department responded to a house fire on December 9th. BFD said the home was completely incinerated, but no one was injured as the home is undergoing renovations.

The investigation into the incident concluded that the fire was intentionally set. The suspects were 55-year-old Frank Parker, the owner of the home, and 59-year-old Betty Barlow, a woman who was helping with renovations.

Parker and Barlow were arrested May 7 at their respective homes in Wisner, Franklin Parish.

Parker faces one count each of arson with intent to defraud, criminal conspiracy, insurance fraud and a related drug offense. Barlow faces one count each of criminal conspiracy, insurance fraud and arson with intent to defraud.
