Oklahoma man arrested for drunk driving and marijuana | News

SIOUX CENTER – A 42-year-old Wakita, Oklahoma man was arrested in Sioux Center around 5:50 p.m. on Friday, July 5. He is charged with first-time driving under the influence of alcohol, first-time possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), and possession or carrying of dangerous weapons while under the influence of alcohol.

Troy Scott Holden’s arrest came after a deputy observed him leaving Casey’s General Store in Sioux Center and he was having difficulty maintaining his balance, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.

Holden then left the parking lot and made a wide turn onto Highway 75. The deputy turned on his vehicle’s hazard lights and stopped Holden’s 2021 Ford F-150 pickup.

He had bloodshot/watery eyes, impaired balance, slurred speech, and smelled of alcoholic beverages.

Holden failed the first breathalyzer test and refused to take the second one. According to the incident report, he admitted to being “intoxicated.”

The third test was aborted because Holden posed a danger to himself due to his loss of balance. A preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.308.

During a search of the vehicle, an empty holster was found in the rear door.

When asked, Holden stated that there was a firearm behind the driver’s seat.

A small black container with hashish, several THC vaporizers and several drug paraphernalia were also found in the vehicle.
