BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA (FOX 35) – Broken windshields have left Melbourne families with a shattered sense of security.

Melbourne Police are investigating a number of cases of car vandalism this week involving different families in different parts of the city.

Surveillance video obtained by FOX 35 shows two people with a flashlight heading toward a car in a Melbourne neighborhood. They aren’t seen in the video, but can be heard banging before running out of frame.

Blake Moia quickly discovered what these noises were doing to his car when he went outside to investigate.

“It looks like someone took a big bowling ball and just threw it at the windshield,” Moia said.
