Pedestrian killed on Mariposa Road in Victorville – VVNG.com

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — An accident early Thursday morning has led to the closure of a section of Mariposa Road in Victorville following the death of a pedestrian.

On May 9, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies from the Victorville Station responded to the incident at the intersection of Locust Ave and Mariposa Road.

When they arrived, they found a blue car parked in a northbound lane on Mariposa Road and a pedestrian lying dead nearby in a southbound lane.

The exact circumstances of the accident remain unclear and it has not been confirmed whether other vehicles were involved.

The area was immediately cordoned off to allow for a detailed investigation by authorities.

The closure has significantly impacted traffic in the immediate area and prompted Victor Valley Transit to reroute several of its bus routes outside of ongoing police activity.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office Victorville Station is actively investigating the incident and updates are expected as more information becomes available.

Residents and commuters are advised to seek alternative routes until the road reopens.
