Boone man injured in motorcycle crash Sunday night southwest of Webster City. – KQRadio


A Boone motorcyclist was injured in a crash southwest of Webster City at the corner of Stagecoach Road and 270th Street early Sunday evening. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department reported that a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Zachary Hammond of Boone was traveling southbound on Stagecoach Road when it entered a left curve in the road and he lost control of the motorcycle. Hammond’s motorcycle entered the ditch on the west side of the road where it came to a stop. The accident report stated that Hammond’s motorcycle was traveling around the curve at approximately 50 mph when he struck a loose patch of gravel in the road and lost control of the motorcycle. Hammond was taken by ambulance to Van Diest Medical Center where he was treated for neck and shoulder pain. Hammond was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash. Investigating Deputy Alex Sharp estimated damage to Hammond’s motorcycle at $5,000.
