According to SAPD, a man who feared for his wife’s safety shot a potential intruder

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police said a suspect was shot and killed inside a West Side home after the victim repeatedly asked him to leave his property.

Authorities said the suspect was confrontational and knocked on the victim’s front door in the 800 block of Allende Drive around 1 a.m. Sunday.

The 25-year-old victim told the suspect to leave, which he did. But police said the suspect returned to the property. This time, SAPD said, the suspect entered the victim’s backyard.

Officials said the property owner, who was armed with a shotgun at the time and accompanied by his wife, confronted the 48-year-old suspect in his backyard and asked him to leave a second time.

The suspect then lunged at the victim. Fearing for his wife’s safety, the victim shot the suspect once in the stomach, according to officials.

When emergency services arrived, the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The department said no charges will be filed against the victim at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
