Cumberland Police Arrest Robbery Suspect

Cumberland, MD — On Saturday, June 29, officers with the Cumberland Police Department responded to a reported robbery in the 100 block of Virginia Avenue at approximately 9:01 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who claimed that Russell McLamb stole a quantity of U.S. currency after a brief struggle. The victim further claimed that McLamb grabbed them by the neck and struck them in the head before fleeing.

Officers searched the area and located McLamb, who was subsequently arrested. He was taken to District Court and is being held without bail.

Russell Clinton McLamb, 39, of Cumberland, Maryland, is charged with robbery, first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and theft of less than $100.
