Texans picked to reach new heights in latest Bleacher Report prediction

CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans are determined to prove that last year was not an anomaly. The reigning Rookie of the Year only saw his management add more talent this offseason, so why should anyone believe last year was a fluke?

The fans and organization have high hopes for 2024, and rightfully so. It’s been a good offseason for Houston, and they’re one of the most complete teams in all of football.

Bleacher Report Brad Gagnon also seems to think the Texans could reach new heights, so those die-hard fans drinking the Kool-Aid might not be far from the truth, quite frankly.

As for what Houston’s potential is, according to Gagnon, here’s what he had to say about the “boom” potential of Stroud and the Texans:

“This remarkable 2023 campaign was just a taste of what was to come for Stroud and company, and the additions of Danielle Hunter and Stefon Diggs put the Texans on top in a shocking run to the Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. »

A Super Bowl would be quite an accomplishment for Houston, right? A team that has failed to find the right quarterback since its inception (and say what you want about Deshaun Watson’s tenure) finds a franchise quarterback, surrounds him with plenty of talent on both sides of the ball and goes for it. ‘at the end of the second year?

It sounds like a dream come true for longtime Texans fans.

But when the going gets tough, where will the Texans end up next season? Gagnon believes they’ll go pretty far and wrote his prediction as follows:

“The talent is there, and so is the mindset. They win a dozen or more games, take the South and push the Kansas City Chiefs hard in the AFC title game.”

Okay, to be fair, an AFC Championship Game would be a good enough end to the season, even if it ended in a close loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Sure, fans are probably sick of the Chiefs at this point, but from Houston’s perspective, 2024 would be a huge success.

Houston improves its participation in the divisional round and advances to the championship game. The fans would be delighted.

Then, in 2025, Stroud takes them all the way. It’s the only logical outcome, right?
