Irvona man jailed for sexual assault – GantNews.com

IRVONA – An Irvona man is behind bars for allegedly sexually abusing a young girl on multiple occasions.

Cory J. Kubiak, 55, is charged by Clearfield State Police with four felony counts each: rape, forcible assault and rape of a mentally retarded person; Felony Statutory Sexual Assault; and aggravated assault (two counts) and misdemeanor (four counts).

The charges stem from incidents that occurred between May 1, 2023 and April 28, 2024 at a residence in Irvona County, according to the probable cause affidavit filed in Houtzdale District Court.

State police say Kubiak made the victim perform a sexual act on him several times and in at least two of the assaults he touched her inappropriately.

In an interview on May 2, the victim told investigators that on April 27, Kubiak forced her to touch his private parts before forcing her to have sexual intercourse with him. On April 28, he let her have sex with him again.

She also reported an incident that occurred about a year earlier.

In an interview on May 7, Kubiak reportedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim four or five times in the last two months.

He also admitted that the victim had touched his private parts four or five times and that he had touched her inappropriately at least two times.

Kubiak is being held in the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 15 in a central court.
