Man attacked with shovel after argument

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (KSLA) – According to Shreveport police, an officer was stopped around 8:50 a.m. on June 24 by a man bleeding from the head.

Investigators found that the incident began in the 7900 block of Line Avenue.

According to officials, 44-year-old Charles Cawthorne struck the victim several times in the head with a shovel during an argument. The victim suffered a severe cut but is expected to recover.

Cawthorne was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.
