Ashanti Alert issued for North Carolina woman

HIGH POINT, NC — An Ashanti Alert has been issued for a North Carolina woman who police believe has been kidnapped, according to the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons.

High Point police said 31-year-old India Palshett Abney was missing.

They describe her as a woman who is 5’6″ tall and weighs 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black cycling shorts and white sneakers.

Police believe she is dating 32-year-old Evan Rashad Gainey.

Gainey is described as a man who is 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds.

Officials said the two were last seen on Mobile Street and Cliffside Avenue as they headed toward North Main Street in High Point.

They say Gainey is driving a black Mercedes with the license plate PKN 8095. According to police, the license plate does not belong to the Mercedes.

Police believe their destination is Greensboro, NC.
