Texas man arrested after alleged sex with horse – again | KLRT

PHARR, Texas (KVEO) – A man accused of having sex with a horse has been arrested for the fourth time in Texas.

Cirilo Castillo, 54, was arrested on charges of zoophilia and trespassing, according to Hidalgo County Jail records.

An affidavit of probable cause stated that a deputy with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence in Edinburg, Texas, where he met with a woman.

The woman said she went out to feed her horses at 6:15 a.m. and saw Castillo in the stable.

“She saw Cirilo standing on a chair having sex with her white mare,” the affidavit states.

According to the document, Castillo had previously been on the property and was informed that he was not welcome there.

“(The woman) had previous encounters with Cirilo, who trespassed on her property to have sex with her horse,” the document states.

Castillo, of Edinburg, Texas, was booked into the Hidalgo County Jail on Tuesday and his bail was set at $70,000.

Previous arrests

In 2013, Castillo pleaded guilty after being caught on video having sex with a horse named “India.” At the time, former Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino said Castillo would continue doing so.

“He’s going to keep doing it,” Trevino said. “People in this neighborhood are just fed up with it, we just have to do something about it.”

In 2015, Castillo was arrested after again attempting to have sex with a horse. In that incident, he was kicked by the horse and crawled into a barn for shelter, telling authorities he had been hit by a car.

Most recently, Castillo was arrested in 2022 after a homeowner noticed someone leaving wooden benches and chairs in his horse stalls. They installed security cameras and noticed someone lying on the floor of the stalls. When they went to the stall, they saw Castillo on the horse’s back, fiddling with his pants, authorities said.

According to records, the case was postponed to August 30.
