Police close streets and restrict access to bars during Celtics game 5

Boston police close streets around TD Garden and restrict access to stores during Game 5 of the NBA Finals

Fans are not allowed to enter bars and restaurants after the first quarter

With the Boston Celtics hosting Game 5 of the NBA Finals and the team having a chance to win their record-breaking 18th NBA title, police and city officials are again implementing a street closure plan in the area around TD Garden. All of Causeway Street and all streets connecting Causeway to New Chardon Street will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians after the first quarter of the Celtics game. This is earlier than the closure during Game 4, which was played in Dallas, and covers a larger area. “There will also be no re-entry of facilities (in) this area at halftime,” police said. Game play is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. Monday night. If the Celtics win, they will secure the title. Boston leads the series 3-1 against the Dallas Mavericks.
