Court orders use of modern instruments to recover kidnapped person

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the suspension of the Superintendent of Police (SP) and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) for failing to secure the release of the abducted brother of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehbaz Gill.

LHC Judge Amjad Rafiq has delivered the two-page written judgment in the non-compensation case against Shehbaz Gill’s brother Ghulam Shahbbir.

According to the written judgment, the court issued the order for release of the abducted person on June 10 and directed the Inspector General (IG) to appoint a senior officer to release the abductee Ghulam Shabbir.

In the meantime, ASP failed to convince the court in the case of the recovery of the kidnapped person.

The court order stated that SP had asked the plaintiff to help in freeing the kidnapped person and that the police would then take action.

However, the police had taken no action within four days to release the kidnapped person and ignored the court’s orders.

However, SP has assured the court that he will find the abducted person before the next hearing. The court order states that the court has given SP another chance to find the missing person.

The court ordered the appointment of a senior officer to search and monitor the kidnapping case.

The LHC’s written judgment mentioned that the missing person could be traced and rescued through geofencing, video surveillance, safe city, highway and media sources.

The court has ordered the use of modern means to search for abducted persons from their homeland to Faisalabad and Islamabad.
