Rape: BCom student helps cops arrest accused after father released from Uttar Pradesh jail | Bhopal News

Bhopal: Her mother died four years ago and her father was in a jail in Uttar Pradesh. A BCom student was blackmailed and raped for nearly a year in Kolar. The accused, who extorted Rs 150,000 from the survivor, was nabbed after the survivor approached Kolar police after her father was released from jail and narrated her ordeal. They approached Kolar police, who said a case has been registered against the accused. Police said the survivor’s mother died four years ago while her father was incarcerated in a jail in the neighbouring state of Uttar Pradesh. The survivor stayed with her brother. But over a year ago, her brother too died. Police said the accused threatened her and violated her modesty over the past one year. The girl continued to suffer as there was no one to help her and she was also afraid of being defamed. The accused threatened to kill her father if he came out of jail and she resisted. Police said when her father’s release date from jail came and she wanted to pick him up, the accused stopped her. However, when her father came to Bhopal after his release from jail, she narrated the ordeal and the matter was reported to the police, following which the case of rape was registered and the accused was nabbed, police added.
