Investigations into drowning accident in Lake Winnipesaukee ongoing

An autopsy will determine the man’s official cause and manner of death, but Marine Patrol officials said they do not consider the man’s death suspicious at this time.

WOLFEBORO, NH — New Hampshire authorities are investigating a drowning case after a man was found dead on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee Thursday.

The Wolfeboro Fire and Rescue Department received a 911 call around 6 p.m. Thursday about a man whose body was found face down in the water at Carry Beach in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire State Police said in a news release.

First responders and passersby were able to bring the man to shore, where life-saving measures were taken. However, the man was pronounced dead.

Officers identified the man as 65-year-old Thomas Lennon of Wolfeboro.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause and manner of death, but state police said in their press release that the death does not appear suspicious at this time.

The Wolfeboro Fire Department was assisted by the New Hampshire State Police, the Wolfeboro Police Department and the New Hampshire Marine Patrol.

The death remains under investigation.
