A McComb man was arrested early Wednesday morning following a domestic incident in Findlay.

According to a Findlay Police press release, officers were dispatched to a room at the Townplace Suites after receiving a 911 call reporting a woman had been strangled by her boyfriend.

Officers found the victim with injuries consistent with strangulation.

She stated that her boyfriend, 31-year-old Jamie Hoverman, attacked her while drunk, strangled her several times throughout the evening until she lost consciousness and then fled the hotel room on foot before police arrived at the scene.

While officers were interviewing the victim, another officer spotted a pickup truck driving recklessly on Tiffin Avenue near Bright Road and attempted to make a traffic stop.

The driver of the pickup truck, later identified as Hoverman, lost control and crashed on Bright Road near Shore Blvd.

He then fled the scene of the accident on foot, but was overpowered and arrested.

It was discovered that Hoverman allegedly stole the vehicle from a nearby hotel.

Hoverman is being held at the Hancock County Justice Center. He is charged with kidnapping, strangulation, receiving stolen goods, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest and concealing personal information.
