Fatal accident involving semi-trailer truck on Freeway 60 near Azusa Avenue

AZUSA, CA (June 5, 2024) – One person was killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles and a semi-trailer on Freeway 60 Monday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on June 3 at around 10:28 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a semi-truck and two other vehicles collided on the westbound freeway near Azusa Avenue.

Emergency responders found one person dead at the scene. Authorities did not release the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.

Emergency crews later issued a SigAlert that called for the closure of four lanes of the westbound highway to allow for cleanup and an investigation.

The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officials will release additional information as it becomes available.
