Pastor John Paul Miller’s ex-wife claims he behaved “sexually inappropriately” toward underage girls

US News

The ex-wife of South Carolina pastor John Paul Miller – whose second wife committed suicide after presenting him with divorce papers – claims he behaved “sexually inappropriately” toward underage girls at his church and was repeatedly unfaithful, according to recently filed court documents.

The sordid allegations about the 44-year-old pastor’s sex life were revealed last week in urgent documents that his first wife, Alison Williams, filed with the court seeking custody of the couple’s two minor children, News 13 reported.

These allegations are the latest to rock Miller after his second wife, Mica Miller, shot herself in April, just weeks after she accused him of sexually abusing her when she was a teenager and mistreating her throughout their marriage – allegations he strongly denies.

In her complaint in the custody dispute, Williams alleges that Miller – a pastor of Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina – had a history of being “sexually inappropriate” with “several underage female members” of his congregation and regularly engaged prostitutes.

She claimed that the underage girls Miller allegedly contacted gave her detailed descriptions of his actions, but none of them ever came forward publicly because they feared retaliation.

“I went to the police station to file a report and request an investigation,” Miller said in court documents.

“However, the police officers essentially told me that no one would believe me because JP was a well-known pastor and we were in the middle of a divorce.”

Williams divorced Miller in 2016 after she learned he had begun an affair with Mica while the younger woman worked as a nanny for the couple’s two children, the filing said.

At some point after he married Mica in 2017, Miller allegedly began cheating on his second wife as well, Williams claimed in court documents.

The woman’s husband later drowned, the file states.

“Just two weeks before this incident, the husband (of the woman) had confronted JP and asked him to leave his wife and children alone,” Williams claims in the papers. “It is devastating to know that both husbands… have now died as a result of tragic events.”

Despite her divorce from Miller, Williams claims that she maintained a friendly relationship with Mica over the years – and that her ex’s second wife eventually turned to her for advice regarding mental health treatment.

Williams said Mia left her an undated 47-second voicemail asking for the name of a counselor as she tried to end her marriage in the lead-up to her suicide.

“Hey Ali, this is Mica. This is my new number…please don’t give it to anyone, but I just wanted to see who your counselor is to help you walk the path of forgiveness and so on and keep your heart through all this mess,” she said, according to court documents.

“I don’t want to get lost in it and I don’t want to pursue anything out of anger or revenge, I just want to be free and have peace and keep my soul in order,” Mica said. “So if you can just text me the name of a good counselor, you know I would really appreciate it. Thank you, bye.”

Miller’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the latest allegations on Wednesday.

Miller’s behavior has been on the rise since the death of his second wife, which was ruled a suicide after she was found dead in Lumber River State Park in North Carolina on April 28 from a gunshot wound to the head and shot herself in the process.

Despite the verdict, her family asked police to investigate her death because the pastor was accused of abusing his wife.

Before her suicide, Mica had contacted authorities several times to make allegations against her husband, including that he had “groomed” her as a teenager before they married in 2017.

The pastor had previously stated that his wife suffered from a mental illness, had previously attempted to end her life and had been in hospital several times.

“Following the untimely death of Mica Miller, unfounded rumors and false allegations began circulating on social media and various media outlets suggesting Pastor Miller’s involvement in her death,” Miller’s attorney Russell Long said after her death.

“This has caused a furore that has led to local and national media spreading these falsehoods on a massive scale. Our client denies all reports suggesting that he ever abused his wife.”

As rumors of Mica’s death began to circulate, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office released extensive details of its investigation to support its findings that the pastor had nothing to do with his wife’s death, including a 911 call Mica made on the day of her death.

“I’m about to kill myself and I just want my family to know where to find me,” Miller said in the audio clip.
