Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run accident in South Indy

INDIANAPOLIS – IMPD is investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Indianapolis’ south side late Monday night.

According to IMPD, officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck around 11:30 p.m. on June 3. They arrived in the 8200 block of Madison Avenue, just south of East Stop 11 Road.

A person who was hit by a car was pronounced dead at the scene. A police spokesman said the driver was no longer at the scene of the accident.

The incident is currently being investigated by IMPD investigators who are investigating the fatal accident.

The police did not provide any further information.
