According to NHTSA, the problem affects some Lincoln luxury SUVs from 2020 to 2024.

The recalled vehicles were built between October 19, 2019 and April 25, 2024.

A cell phone can cause electromagnetic interference that can flicker or distort the rear camera image. Some of the distortions may include jumps, shaking or scrolling, the NHTSA said in a report.

Owners are advised not to use their mobile phones while reversing the SUV.

Dealers install a shield on the Accessory Protocol Image Module free of charge.

Owners will receive letters in the mail after July 8, but can also call Ford at 866-436-7332. The internal callback number is 24S35.
