13-year-old fatally injured in rollover accident

A 13-year-old is dead and an 11-year-old is injured after an SUV rolled over in Poweshiek County. The Iowa State Patrol says the two were traveling southeast of Guernsey when they lost control on a curve and rolled into the ditch. The 11-year-old, the driver of the vehicle, was flown by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospital. The incident remains under investigation.

GUERNSEY, Iowa —

A 13-year-old is dead and an 11-year-old was injured after an SUV rolled over in Poweshiek County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the two were driving southeast of Guernsey when they lost control on a curve and rolled into the ditch.

The 11-year-old driver of the vehicle was flown by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospital.
