Two women raped and robbed while attending a prayer session in the bushes – Tzaneen Voice

POLOKWANE: Seshego Police are investigating two suspects involved in an armed robbery and rape incident that occurred at about 5:30pm on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in Moletji Dikoting section, Mmotong.

According to Limpopo Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, two women aged 33 and 42 were threatened with firearms, taken into the bushes and raped while attending a prayer session in an open field.

Limpopo Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba says the victims were accompanied by their two children to the prayer service in the bushes when an unknown African man suddenly appeared and pointed a gun at them.

Hlulani Mashaba says he demanded cell phones and stole a cell phone and an unknown amount of cash from a child. He also instructed the victims to go with him and leave the children behind.

Mashaba said another suspect later joined him and then instructed the victims to undress and raped them.

He says her fled the scene after this horrific ordeal
