2 dead in crash in central Manchester

Two people have died in a crash between a car and a motorcycle, according to Manchester Police. The accident occurred around 8:20 p.m. Friday on Elm Street near the intersection of Pearl Street. Police said a 2021 Honda Accord was traveling south on Elm Street when it made a U-turn and struck the motorcycle, which was traveling north. A 38-year-old woman, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, police said. A 34-year-old man who was operating the motorcycle was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the car was not injured. Manchester Police said both victims were from Dunbarton. Their names have not yet been announced. The area where the accident occurred was closed to traffic for several hours. Police told News 9 it reopened around 2 a.m. Saturday. The crash is still under investigation.
