Police are searching for a man accused of stabbing a woman at Clark College

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A man is accused of stabbing a woman in the neck on the Clark College campus in Vancouver on Tuesday. Now the police are looking for the suspect and are releasing pictures of him to the public.

The Vancouver Police Department said the man may have been involved in another encounter with another woman in the college parking lot the day before.

Describing the man’s appearance from a surveillance camera image, police said he was “East Asian or Middle Eastern, 30-40 years old, medium build and with a beard.”

Police said they responded to the college Tuesday after a disturbance involving a weapon was reported. When they arrived, officers found a woman with a stab wound to the neck.

She told police that while she was sitting outside the Archer building, a man she did not recognize came up to her, screaming and asking for help. The woman thought the man had beaten her, but realized from the blood that she had been stabbed. She was taken to a hospital and her injuries are not considered life-threatening, officials said.

After the incident, the suspect fled on foot, but police were unable to find him. He was last seen heading north toward Water Works Park.

The incident in the parking lot Monday was described to police as involving a man matching the description of the alleged stabber approaching a woman who was sitting in her car. The man, who she did not know, approached the driver’s side and tried to talk to her, officers said. When the woman opened her door, the man pulled on it, apparently trying to get into the vehicle. The woman screamed and the man ran away. Clark College security responded to the incident and later spoke to police about it.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Vancouver police.
