A tragedy occurs when a child dies in a drowning accident

A small child has died in a drowning accident in Melbourne’s southeast.

Emergency crews rushed to Lagoon Row in Officer, a suburb in Melbourne’s southeast, at around 5pm on Sunday.

The child was pulled unconscious from the water and died at the scene of the accident.

The child has yet to be officially identified.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
