Missing mother who was swept away by the San Joaquin River has been found dead

The body of a missing mother was recovered from the San Joaquin River.

STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — The body of a missing mother was recovered from the San Joaquin River.

Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, volunteers helping with the search found Brenda Duran’s body outside Newman.

Water rescuers searched for several people in the river at Fisherman’s Bend near Crows Landing on Thursday.

Officials say Duran was swept away while trying to save her drowning daughter.

Then Duran’s teenage son jumped in to help them.

According to officials, the two siblings made it out safely and were treated at the scene.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
