Shooting in Tampa leaves two dead

TAMPA, Fla. – Two people are dead and one is injured after a shooting in Tampa.

Officers on patrol heard gunshots and responded to a parking lot near the intersection of South Howard Avenue and West Horatio Street just before 3 a.m. Sunday, Tampa police said.

Three adult men were injured and taken to the hospital, where two died and one was shot in the leg. Police said the shooting stemmed from an argument and that the people involved knew each other.

“These senseless acts of violence that occurred this morning occurred in a busy area,” prosecutor Suzy Lopez said at a news conference Sunday morning.

Police Chief Lee Bercaw said police are now looking for videos that people in the area may have taken to determine who shot these men.

No further information was initially provided.
