AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Clear skies and cooler than average temperatures will dominate the forecast for Mother’s Day weekend, then the next storm system moves in late Monday into Tuesday with our next chance of rain.

The sun continues to shine on Mother’s Day Sunday. After a somewhat cool start in the lower 50s, afternoon highs will warm slightly into the lower 80s. Winds will be from the northwest at 4 to 9 miles per hour.

The rain will begin late Monday and continue into Tuesday. A few lingering showers are possible Wednesday, but Wednesday and Thursday look mostly dry with temperatures reaching the upper 80s by Thursday.

The chance of rain increases next Friday, with showers and thunderstorms possible.
