Summerville police arrest three people for armed robbery at Zaxby’s

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCBD) – The Summerville Police Department (SPD) arrested three suspects for an armed robbery at Zaxby’s early Saturday morning.

19-year-old Da’Larnron Huger, 17-year-old Jardi Gaines, who was charged as an adult, and a 16-year-old male were charged with armed robbery. According to authorities, all three men live in Cross, South Carolina.

Officers responded to the incident at 320 Azalea Square Boulevard around 12:15 p.m. Officials say the victim told officers that three men armed with a handgun and wearing black masks and bandanas stole her vehicle and cellphone.

Officers pursued the suspect as part of a vehicle pursuit after locating the fleeing vehicle on North Maple Street. The pursuit reportedly ended at East Doty Ave and South Gum Street when the vehicle was involved in an accident.

A suspect was arrested in the crash and two suspects fled in the vehicle into the woods along the railroad tracks near Berlin G. Myers Pkwy, officials say.

According to the SPD, no injuries were reported as a result of the vehicle collision.

Summerville police officers and the Dorchester, Berkeley and Charleston County sheriff’s offices deployed K-9 teams to track down the remaining suspects. When the officers found a handgun during the arrest, they confiscated it.

Da’Lanron Huger was charged with Armed Robbery, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor x 2, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, Failure to Stop for Blue Lights and Resisting Arrest.

Male Jardi Gaines was charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a crime of violence, unlawful possession of a handgun and resisting arrest. Huger and Gaines were taken to the Berkeley County Detention Center, where they were housed pending a bond hearing.

The unnamed 16-year-old was charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a crime of violence and resisting arrest. He was transported to the SC Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
