Air Quality Warning issued for Ravalli and Granite counties

HELENA – The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air quality alert for Ravalli County.

The warning, which is valid until 8 a.m. Tuesday, also applies to Deer Lodge, Granite and Silver Bow counties.

Smoke from wildfires continues to billow across parts of Montana due to nearby wildfires.

The Wye Fire west of the Bitterroot Mountains in Idaho has expanded significantly recently, and the DEQ says it will continue to send thick smoke into parts of southwest Montana.
