Troy man charged with abusive sexual contact with paramedic

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – A Troy man was charged with abusive sexual contact on May 9, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Robert Seifert Jr., 65, is accused of grabbing the chest and groin of a paramedic at the Albany Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Seifert was previously convicted in 2017 for another incident at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in which he threatened a mass shooting at the hospital. He appeared in court in Albany on April 9 after being charged with criminal charges related to the reported incident of sexual contact.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and post-release supervision of up to one year. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Seifert conditionally waived his right to a detention hearing and is currently in custody pending further court proceedings.
