Man killed in shooting at southwest Charlotte apartments

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – A man was killed in a shooting at an apartment complex in southwest Charlotte early Monday morning.

Police Charlotte-Mecklenburg said the shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Rachel Freeman Way near the Berewick Pointe Apartments, not far from the intersection of Shopton and Steele Creek Road.

When the police arrived at the crime scene, they found the man with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

Homicide detectives were called to the complex to investigate and collect evidence.

Police did not disclose whether there had been any arrests in the case or whether the identity of the man killed was known.
