Bristol County man dead after jet ski accident at Massachusetts pond – Fall River Reporter

A local man died in a jet ski accident.

According to police, Rutland police and firefighters were called to Turkey Hill Pond at 4:23 p.m. Saturday for a report of a jet ski that had overturned in the water and the driver disappearing underwater. Witnesses reported that the person appeared to be in distress before going under.

Emergency crews searched the area by boat and along the shore to find the man. Additional crews arrived at Turkey Hill Pond to assist, including the Fire District 8 dive team, several area fire departments, the Massachusetts State Police and the Massachusetts Environmental Police.

Unfortunately, at around 7:49 p.m., divers recovered the body of a 46-year-old man from Attleboro. The perpetrator has not been identified pending notification of the family.

The causes and circumstances of this incident are being investigated by the Rutland Police Department with assistance from the Massachusetts Environmental Police and the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
